Personally,
Jerry Powers was raised in 2 children's homes;
DePelchin Faith Home in Houston, Texas and primarily at
Tipton Children's
Home in Tipton, Oklahoma. After graduating from Tipton High
School he attended the University of Oklahoma majoring in Construction
Science and Platt College in Oklahoma City majoring in Architectural
Drafting and Design. Jerry has been married for over 25 years and has 4 grown
children and 1 grandchild. He has been actively involved in church his entire
life and regularly teaches Bible class and leads singing. Jerry has a great
desire to help others. The motivation to help homeowners avoid foreclosure comes from his personal experience. In 2000, Jerry started a homebuilding business with a financial partner. However, when the tech stock bubble burst his financial partner withdrew his funding and the young business did not survive. After the failure of this business and the inability to replace his income Jerry found himself in pre-foreclosure. At this time, Jerry and his family were not offered assistance by anyone, to educate him in the foreclosure process, or to help prevent a possible foreclosure. Fortunately, he was able to sell his house within 2 months, for what was owing, and avoided foreclosure. At that time Jerry was unaware of the foreclosure timeline, but was able to move both himself and his family out of the house after missing only the second payment! |

| Jerry then took a job with a Residential
Architectural firm in the Washington DC area as a Project Manager.
This separated him from his wife Jerry has worked in the homebuilding industry for 20 years. He
began working for a small volume homebuilder directly out of college as
a home designer and field superintendent. His tasks soon expanded
to estimating and purchasing. Then after 10 years Jerry decided
that it was time to strike out on his own as a homebuilder.
Unfortunately the experience was short lived, as mentioned above,
when his financial partner exited the business. And of course,
this led to the 14 month experience with the Residential Architectural
firm in Washington DC. The Project Manager position was a good fit
for all involved since Jerry had practical knowledge in home
construction as well as the ability to accurately prepare work drawings
for construction. Although he felt he gained from the experience
Jerry also missed being with his family and both he and the family felt
that he needed to return home and become a whole unit again. Jerry
was fortunate to be hired by a national homebuilder in the Tulsa area to
serve as their Purchasing Manager. This, however, was a short
lived position as the homebuilder soon after left the Tulsa market.
Fortunately another position became available with a large local
homebuilder who was able to utilize his skills to expand their business.
Jerry helped them expand from 47 house starts to 175 house starts per
year within only a few short years. Now Jerry works on a
consultancy basis for homebuilders and focuses on Real Estate Investing
with an especial bent on helping those homeowners needing assistance to
stay in their |
